Catherine Weiss is a poet, illustrator, and arts organizer originally from down east Maine, currently living in Western Massachusetts.
Their poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Tinderbox Poetry, Up the Staircase Quarterly, Freezeray Poetry, Jersey Devil Press, Drunk in a Midnight Choir, Noble/Gas Quarterly, Slamfind, and elsewhere. They have also been nominated for the Best New Poets 2019 anthology and Best of the Net 2019 anthology.
Catherine was the 2017 Grand Slam Champion of Northampton Poetry and has competed at the National Poetry Slam, the Individual World Poetry Slam, and the Women of the World Poetry Slam.
They are a co-organizer of Northampton Poetry Community and the founder of community arts space Endopolis Poetry Room, where they lead a variety of workshops and poetry circles.
Catherine has toured regionally as a spoken word artist and is currently working on their first full-length manuscript.
Their artwork has appeared in Anxy Magazine, and they have designed t-shirts for several local organizations. Catherine also regularly makes art for poetry broadsides, chapbooks, and merch for themselves and others.
Catherine leads workshops on writing, editing, and performing poetry, as well as strategies for submitting work to literary magazines as well as creating DIY chapbooks.
